What was the highlight of Casa Calamari
Pay for a better hotel
It's in great location of the city. Many restaurants just a few blocks down. I was told I am Lebron James everytime I walked down the street which made me think I was famous. You may have a guest at the location for a fee (5,000 COP).
Well first off the location is a hostel and not a hotel. Old building with old furnature. Bed wasn't comfortable at all. Power went out in the city (No back up generator) so there was not wifi or AC for hours. Hot water doesn't work. I was told I was Lebron James everytime I walked down the steet which became annoying after the 5th group of guys walked up to me on day one. You will be constantly harrassed by the locals. You may have a guest at the location for a fee (5,000 COP).

Great location - in the heart of the old city;
Great location - in the heart of the old city; more specifically - in a nice area, close to the old wall, cathedral and main shopping street.
The party music from the street can be heard from the room (Double with balcony). No elevator - can be troublesome if you travel with large luggage

What was the highlight of Casa Calamari
A great place to stay in the old city of Cartagena!
I loved this hotel. The staff are nice, the beds are very comfortable and clean, the architecture and character of the hotel are gorgeous and it’s super close to the nicest part of the old city in Cartagena.
There was a party going on the first night that we stayed in the outdoor bar next door that was so loud, we only got 3 hours sleep and that made our next day walking around very tiring and was really unpleasant.

Nice balcony to the street.
Nice balcony to the street. Nice style modern but old fashioned. Located in an old townhouse. Nice rooftop to relax. No hot water but due to tropical climate no problem. Breakfast is offered in a little cafe which is quite good even though portions could be bigger.
The bed was too hard. Next to the hotel was a club which was open one evening during our stay which was very loud.
